NAHJ gets $100,000 grant

The McCormick Foundation has granted the National Association of Hispanic Journalists $100,000 for a one year audience-building project.

The grant will feed the next phase of NAHJ’s Parity Project program, which will examine how Latinos in the U.S. receive their news and how they use, view and participate in news media.

In all, the foundation gave out 26 grants totaling almost $4 million over the next 2 years to support news and information, specifically in the categories of content, audience and rights.

As it is described by the McCormick foundation, “The audience category addresses the public’s information needs and how news organizations can better interact with their audiences.”
