Telemundo has bought a 40% stake in Colombian television production partner RTI. As a result, both companies have agreed to create a new entity called Producciones RTI S.A.S. that will produce TV content in Colombia for export to the U.S. and other countries. Neither company is saying how much Telemundo paid for the deal.
Before this agreement, RTI had a production arrangement with Telemundo to deliver over 300 hours of original content. Telemundo, in turn, provided international distribution for the Colombian-produced novelas.
