A spokesman for Telemundo tells me the company eliminated the news director position in New York and created a VP of Content position “to oversee the news department, creative services and all digital platforms. This way we have one person overseeing all content created locally regardless of who produces it at the station.”
The VP of content will oversee the news department, Acceso Total, the web and cell phone platforms. Applications for the new job are currently being reviewed and Telemundo will announce who’s taking over the gig when the selection process is completed.
