McClatchy announced on its Facebook page that 5 of its papers – The Sacramento Bee, The Charlotte Observer, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Anchorage Daily News and The News & Observer in Raleigh – are now available on Kindle for a $6.99 a month subscription, after a 2 week free trial.
The Kindle editions, which are delivered wirelessly early in the morning, won’t include all the info that’s on their print editions or websites. They will have a limited number of photos and graphics and no advertising.
The Kansas City Star and The Miami Herald will soon also be available on Kindle.
