It looks like G.E. reached a tentative agreement to buy Vivendi’s 20% stake in NBC Universal for $5.8 billion. The deal would clear the path for G.E. to sell the television and movie company to Comcast.
According to the NYT, the Vivendi agreement values NBC at $29 billion, less than the $30 billion G.E. and Comcast had agreed to last month. A completed deal could be announced by Thursday.
