Evidently, it was a no-brainer for Univision to send one of their senior network anchors to cover the aftermath of Chile’s earthquake. Jorge Ramos on Monday night anchored half of the national newscast from Santiago with 3 other correspondents providing additional quake coverage, while Telemundo did all of its reporting from its Miami studios. It wasn’t until late in the evening that Telemundo notified me that José Diaz-Balart was on his way to Chile.
