Fernandez lands in Detroit

Eduardo Fernandez is the new VP and General Manager of ABC affiliate and Scripps-owned station WXYZ-7 in Detroit. He starts the new job April 26. The 47 year-old executive replaces Bob Silva, who retired April 1.

Eduardo was President and General Manager of WSNS-44, the Telemundo station in Chicago until July of last year. His contract at that time was not renewed. He had been at the station since 2003. He previously spent 14 years at WXMI-7, the Fox affiliate in Grand Rapids, where he worked his way up from local sales manager to VP and General Manager.
