U.S. govt. reverses decision, gives Morris visa

Hollman Morris will be allowed to enter the U.S. and study at Harvard. The Nieman Foundation today announced that Hollman will soon begin his yearlong fellowship, after the U.S. State Department reversed its decision to keep him out of the country.

Barely 2 weeks ago, the U.S. had denied the Colombian journalist a student visa, under the “terrorism activies” section of the Patriot Act. His visa denial sparked outrage among human rights activists, who along with several organizations, rushed to defend Hollman and to pressure the U.S. into giving him a visa.
