“I just can’t tell you how exciting it is to join such a prestigious group of journalists. It is absolutely a dream come true,” Esther tells me. “I’m really looking forward to developing relationships with readers across the country like those I enjoy with my base in Chicago.”
She says she wants to write compelling stories from all parts of the country that will resonate with people across the nation. Her columns will be about the American experience she has lived, as a U.S-born daughter of Latin American immigrants (from Ecuador and Mexico), and how it has evolved during her generation.
Esther will continue to write her Monday column for the Chicago Sun-Times.
