Mexicanal Network expands in Texas and Nevada

December 22, 2010 by Veronica Villafañe

Austin’s KVAT-LD channel 17.1 and Reno’s KELM-LP, channel 43 have started carrying Mexicanal Network programming. This marks part of the network’s strategy to build digital broadcast distribution for Mexicanal throughout the U.S.

In Texas, the network is already carried in Dallas (TV 31.2 DFW), San Antonio (WOAI, chanel 4.2), Harlingen (KGBT, channel 4.2 Telerio) and Corpus Christi (KUQI, channel 38.2).

Digital broadcast distribution of Mexicanal includes markets such as Los Angeles (KBEH, channel 63.3), San Diego (K50LL-D, channel 50.3) and Las Vegas (KTNV, channel 13.2).

Mexicanal is a Mexican based television Network launched in 2005 by Castalia Communications and Cablecom specifically aimed at Mexican-Americans. It was originally available in the U.S. only via DirecTV.
