Bye-bye Don Imus… Dennis Miller… Lou Dobbs… and Oklahoma State University sports.
Gaytan Broadcasting LLC, which owns and operates KXTD 1530AM “Que Buena,” has just bought two more stations in Tulsa and will be flipping them to Spanish. The format switch will happen at midnight on Jan. 31.
In a statement, owner and CEO Maria De Leon said: “This acquisition will allow Gaytan Broadcasting to better serve the Hispanic Community of Tulsa and allow us to expand our efforts within the Latino community as a whole.”
Gaytan, which has owned “Que Buena” in Tulsa for the past 14 years, bought KLZI 1570-AM and KRVT 1270-AM from Reunion Broadcasting.
KLZI 1570 airs news talk shows from personalities such as Dennis Miller and ex-CNN anchor Lou Dobbs.
KRVT 1270, an oldies station, is also is home to shock jock Don Imus and Oklahoma State University football and basketball.
