During today’s upfronts, Univision officially announced the launch of 3 new networks in 2012: Univision 24/7, a 24-hr news network, Univision Deportes and Univision TLNovelas.
The Spanish-language network also said it would be scheduling almost 500 hours of new original productions during primetime and late night, thanks to an enhanced partnership with Televisa.
Univision plans to expand its morning block from the current 3 to 5 hours. Another 30 minutes will be added to “Despierta América,” which will be followed by a lifestyle magazine program called “Hoy.”
Among the big announcements: the launch of “Sí se puede,” a weight loss reality show from Dave Broome, the creator of “The Biggest Loser” and Emilio Estefan, who will be co-producing program.
