Hispanicize acquires stake in Being Latino

Hispanicize, a social media content and blogger marketing platform has acquired a significant stake in Being Latino, a Hispanic community and social media platform and publisher of the online magazine Being Latino. The acquisition immediately combines the communities and resources of both Latino social media entities.

Being Latino was founded in 2009 by Lance Rios.  Along with its 145 sister Facebook fan pages, it has more than 150,000 fans combined on Facebook alone.

Hispanicize, co-headquartered in Miami and New York, was co-founded by Manny Ruiz and Louis Pagan.

As part of the acquisition, the companies announced the creation of a new Twitter hashtag, #BeLatino, that will be used through the Being Latino, Hispanicize and Latina Mom Blogger platforms for cultural discussions. The Hispanicize hashtag #Hispz will focus strictly on Latino and multicultural digital culture, social media and technology.
