Univision launches scholarship program

Univision announced it would award $300,000 to eligible Hispanic students around the nation through its new scholarship program “Becas Univision.”

Univision’s new multi-year scholarship program, part of the company’s multi-platform education initiative “Es el momento,” will be managed by the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF).

The scholarships will be awarded starting in 2012 to “students of Hispanic origin who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, who have overcome strong obstacles and who are involved in extracurricular activities will be eligible for the scholarship,” regardless of legal status.

All Hispanic students currently enrolled in 12th grade, and who have been accepted into a four year university or a community college with plans to transfer to a four year institution in the U.S. are eligible.

More information and eligibility requirements are available online at www.eselmomento.com.
