Marquez leaving ABC News

ABC News correspondent Miguel Marquez is leaving the network.  He has been with ABC since 2005, spending the last 3 years as London correspondent, reporting for all of the networks’ broadcasts and platforms, including “World News with Charles Gibson,” “Good Morning America,” and “Nightline.”  He has also reported extensively on the war in Iraq.

TVNewser is reporting it has confirmed the departure with the network, and points out that last week, ABC announced the hiring of  former CBS News correspondent Kelly Cobiella to work from the London bureau.

Before ABC News, Miguel was an L.A.-based correspondent for CNN.  He previously reported for KSAZ-TV, the Fox affiliate in Phoenix, and was as a general assignment reporter for WNBC-TV in NY.

Prior to embarking on his news career, Miguel spent several years in Washington, D.C. as a legislative aide to then U.S. Representative Bill Richardson.
