Staring this Sunday, November 6, Telemundo’s Phoenix, Miami and Dallas stations are launching their local community affairs shows – all, with a political coverage emphasis.
Emmy Award winning journalist and local reporter Janet Rodriguez is the host “Enfoque Arizona.”
The show will focus on political candidates, community issues and controversial debates surrounding the Hispanics in Arizona.
The topics for the debut show include: the possibility to recall President Russell Pearce from the state senate; interviews with representatives from the mayoral candidates for the City of Phoenix; and conversations with local journalists about the possibility of Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu running for U. S. Congress.
WSCV-51 anchor Ambrosio Hernandez will host “Enfoque Miami.”
The program will focus on the political candidates and issues importance, with particular emphasis on topics of importance to Hispanics in South Florida.
The debut will focus on the new South Florida Hispanic voter and the 2012 election. Former City of Miami Mayor will join Ambrosio as political analyst.
KXTX-40 anchor Norma Garcia will host “Enfoque Dallas.” The debut show will cover Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain’s harrasment allegations as well as the controversy surrounding the Dallas City redistricting map, which Latino protesters argue would reduce Hispanic representation in the City Council.
“Enfoque Arizona,” “Enfoque Miami”and “Enfoque Dallas” are 30 minute shows. They’ll air the first Sunday of every month.
