Univision’s sports network launches April 7

Univision Deportes Network kicks off tomorrow, Saturday, April 7 on DishLATINO and DISH’s America’s Top 200 at 3 p.m. ET.

The new sports network’s main anchor show will be “Univision Deportes Extra,” a nightly sportscast produced from the network’s Miami studios. The hour-long show will be hosted by former Televisa sports newscaster Alejandro Berry, former KUVN sports anchor Antonietta Collins, Claudia Trejos, and sports anchor Jorge Calvo.

Univision Deportes debuts with an exclusive live Major League Soccer match, followed by the network premiere of “Fútbol Central,” a new show hosted by sportscaster Fernando Fiore featuring the top highlights from the day in soccer

Univision Network’s  “República Deportiva” will also air on the new sports network.

Here’s Univision Deportes Network’s launch day schedule:

3 p.m. – 5 p.m. ET                 Major League Soccer: Columbus Crew vs. New York Red Bulls

5 p.m. – 7 p.m. ET                 Solo Boxeo Tecate: Special Edition

7 p.m. – 8 p.m. ET                 “Fútbol Central”

8 p.m. – 10 p.m. ET               Liga Mexicana: Santos vs. Estudiantes Tecos

1 p.m. – 12 a.m. ET                Liga Mexicana: Monterrey vs. Tigres de la UANL

12 a.m. – 1 a.m. ET                “Univision Deportes Extra”

Univision Deportes Network will be offering access to Liga Mexicana soccer games, featuring playoff matches each season. The network has rights to the home games for 12 of the 18 teams within the Liga Mexicana, plus away games for the rest of the league’s teams.

The new sports network will air the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the qualifiers starting this June, as well as matches of the U.S. and Mexican national soccer teams, Major League Soccer, CONCACAF Champions League, FIFA 2013 Confederations Cup, FIFA Under-20 World Championships, and FIFA Under-17 World Championships.
