Ramos, Salinas to get lifetime achievement Emmys

Jorge Ramos and María Elena Salinas have been co-anchoring the Univision network news for 25 years.

Jorge Ramos and María Elena Salinas will be honored by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences with lifetime achievement awards at the 33rd annual News and Doc Emmys to be held October 1 in NYC.

Jorge and María Elena have been “Noticiero Univision” co-anchors more than 25 years.  Jorge became a national news anchor in 1986 and María Elena joined him in 1987.

Jorge also hosts “Al Punto,” Univision’s public affairs program. María Elena, who is one of the first women in the U.S. to co-anchor a national nightly newscast, also co-hosts newsmagazine “Aquí y Ahora.”
