Salinas, Nazario recognized as media game changers

María Elena Salinas and Sonia Nazario are the only two Latinas on the list of 40 women media game changers.

The Columbia Journalism Review just released a list of 40 women who changed the media business in the past 40 years.  Univision anchor María Elena Salinas and Pulitzer-prize winning author and former LA Times journalist Sonia Nazario are the only two Latinas on the list.

While it’s great that the CJR included María Elena and Sonia in “The Divine Sisterhood” list, it’s evident the researchers didn’t look hard for other trailblazers that should’ve been included in that list.

Monica Lozano, CEO impreMedia

One glaring omission: Monica Lozano, Publisher and CEO of La Opinión and one of the architects of the impreMedia national Hispanic newspaper chain.

Media Moves will be creating its own list of Latina media trailblazers to be published in the near future.
