Summa to lead Univision’s efforts in news partnership with ABC

Univision News today announced it has appointed Keith Summa as Vice President of News Partnerships, effectively immediately. He’ll be based in New York and report to Univision News President Isaac Lee.

In this newly created position, Summa will work with journalists in both Univision News and within the Univision/ABC joint venture to support and expand investigative and enterprise reporting in both organizations.  He will also serve as Univision News’ liaison with ABC News in the joint venture, and work with and develop other journalism partnerships.

Prior to joining Univision, Summa was head of the CBS News Investigative Unit since 2007.  He previously spent 15 years as a producer for ABC News and Peter Jennings Productions.

Summa’s documentaries for “Peter Jennings Reporting” include Jennings’ last documentary, “Breakdown: America’s Health Insurance Crisis,” which revealed the dangers of rising health care costs, as well as “From the Tobacco Files,” exposing failures of the public health community; and “How To Get Fat Without Really Trying,” examining how agriculture policies and excessive marketing to children contribute to obesity.

Before starting his career in journalism, Summa was the Advocacy Director for the Coalition for the Homeless.
