Univision doesn’t have the Olympics, but the power of their telenovelas is keeping the Spanish-language network on top. While NBC led all networks in primetime with their coverage of the games, Univision came in second, from 9-11 pm on Wednesday night. ABC, CBS and Fox, which are airing reruns, trailed behind.
“Abismo de Pasión,” averaged a 1.4 adults 18-49 rating at 9 p.m. and “La Que No Podía Amar,” a 1.7 in the same age group, according to Nielsen overnights.
Telemundo came in sixth with a 0.4 for “Corazon Valiente” at 9 p.m. and fifth with a 0.7 adults 18-49 rating for “Pablo Escobar, El Patrón del Mal” at 10 pm.
Since the Olympics kicked off, Univision has come in first or second after NBC during prime-time.
