NATPE news: Telemundo signs exclusive deal with TVN

On the first day of the NATPE conference taking place in Miami this week, Telemundo Media announced it signed an overall exclusive content agreement with broadcaster and content producer Television Nacional de Chile (TVN).

The deal includes the acquisition of exclusive U.S., Puerto Rico and Mexico rights for TVN’s entire library of telenovela scripts to be developed and produced by Telemundo Studios in Mexico or the U.S.

Telemundo has previously produced several original novelas based on adaptations of TVN scripts including “¿Donde Está Elisa?,” “Alguien Te Mira” and “La Casa de al Lado.”

Telemundo Media also renewed its global representation deal with TVN for 5 years. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Telemundo International has exclusively represented TVN Chile in the international market since 2006 having sold TVN’s original productions and formats around the world.

Marcos Santana, President of Telemundo Internacional and Mauro Valdés, Executive Director of TVN made the joint announcement during a late morning press conference.

Telemundo Internacional also revealed it partnered with Samsung Latin America to launch a new App, Telemundo Internacional VOD that will distribute to Latin American audiences the network’s productions via Samsung Smart TV and Samsung mobile devices.
