Vizcón, Arrarás and Rangel to receive Silver Circle Awards

Roberto Vizcón, María Celeste Arrarás and Emilio Rangel are among 6 honorees to receive Silver Circle Awards this year. The  Sun Coast Chapter of the National Academy of Telelvision Arts and Sciences (N.A.T.A.S.) chose the winners from among 11 candidates.  All three honorees are Emmy award winning journalists.

Silver Circle Award recipients are recognized by the chapter and its peers for their dedication, innovation and  contribution to the overall excellence of the television profession and industry for over 25 years.

Roberto is currently Executive News Producer for América TeVe.  He was previously General Manager of WGEN -TV in Miami and VP and GM of WTMO in Orlando.  Before that, he spent almost 12 years as news director of Telemundo’s WSCV-51.  He previously worked for Univision as a senior newscast producer.  He also held producer positions at Miami’s WTVJ-6,  WCMH-4 in Columbus and WINK in Ft. Myers.  He began his career as a news producer/ reporter for WQBA AM/FM Radio in Miami in 1979.

María Celeste Arrarás

María Celeste is currently the host of “Al Rojo Vivo,” on Telemundo network, a role she has held since 2002.  She was previously co-anchor of “Primer Impacto” at Univision network, where she spent 8 years.  She was previously a reporter for Telemundo’s WNJU-47 in New York from 1986 to 1994.  She began her broadcasting career as a reporter at local Puerto Rican television station Canal 24.

Emilio Rangel

Emilio Rangel is currently retired.  He is a former chief photographer for Miami local television station WPLG-TV, where he spent 34 years.

2013 marks the 25th anniversary of the Silver Circle Awards ceremony. The event will be held in early May.
