van Zeller named Fusion correspondent

Mariana van Zeller is joining Fusion as a Los Angeles-based correspondent. She starts July 15.

A native of Portugal, she was most recently a correspondent for the National Geographic Channel.   She is also is a former correspondent for the documentary series “Vanguard,” which aired on Current TV.

Her documentary on prescription drug abuse and pill trafficking, “The OxyContin Express,” was honored with a 2009 Peabody Award.

Mariana began her career in Portugal as a producer and correspondent for SIC Televisão.  Her work has also appeared on PBS, CNN, CBS, Channel 4 (UK), and the CBC.
