Vizcón, Arrarás, Rangel receive Silver Circle awards

Roberto Vizcón, María Celeste Arrarás and Emilio Rangel were honored with the Silver Circle Awards during a ceremony held last night at a Ft. Lauderdale hotel.

They were among six recipients of the award, given out by the Sun Coast Chapter of the National Academy of Telelvision Arts and Sciences (N.A.T.A.S.) for their contributions to the overall excellence of the television profession and industry for over 25 years.

Roberto is currently News Director of Univision Puerto Rico.  During his 34-year career in the television industry, he has held a variety of management jobs, including General Manager of WGEN -TV in Miami, VP and GM of WTMO in Orlando, and News Director of Telemundo’s WSCV-51.  He began his career as a news producer/ reporter for WQBA AM/FM Radio in Miami in 1979.

Emilio Rangel is currently retired.  He is a former chief photographer for Miami local television station WPLG-TV, where he spent 34 years.

María Celeste Arrarás

María Celeste has been an on-air personality for both Telemundo and Univision since 1994.  She is currently the host of “Al Rojo Vivo,” on Telemundo network, a role she has held since 2002.  She was previously co-anchor of “Primer Impacto” at Univision network.  She began her broadcasting career as a reporter at local Puerto Rican television station Canal 24.

2013 also marks the 25th year NATAS hands out the awards.
