June 10, 2013 by Veronica Villafañe

portrait, headshotNUVOtv today announced that Judi Lopez, Senior Vice President, Affiliate and Marketing, has been appointed to the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) Federal Advisory Committee on Diversity in the Digital Age.

The Diversity Committee, which was re-chartered earlier this year, is led by FCC Chairwoman Mignon Clyburn.

The group’s mission is to provide recommendations to the FCC regarding policies and practices that will further enhance diversity in FCC-regulated industries.

Specifically, the Diversity Committee focuses on lowering barriers to entry for historically disadvantaged men and women; explores ways to ensure universal access to broadband; ensures the widest possible dissemination of information from diverse media sources; and creates an environment that enables employment of a diverse workforce in the media, telecommunications and related fields.
