Telemundo Boston sweeps in July

WNEU Telemundo Boston has experienced incredible viewership growth, making it the #1 Spanish-language station in the market sign-on to sign-off (Monday to Sunday 5am-2am), according to Nielsen’s most recent survey.

ZGS-owned WNEU commanded almost half of the audience in the coveted adults 18-34 demo, more than doubling its audience from last year. It also tied for #1 among adults 18-49 for the same time period.

The station’s success was propelled by its strong performance in primetime and early fringe. In primetime, WNEU was the most viewed Spanish-language station from 7-11pm for the 7th consecutive month, delivering a 67% share of the viewing among adults 18-34 and 18-49 and a 56% share among adults 25-54.

“Dama y Obrero,” the new 8pm novela, dominated its time period with 71% of the audience among adults 18-34 and more than 60% among adults 18-49 and adults 25-54.

Hit novelas “La Patrona” and “El Señor de los Cielos” concluded their runs at #1 among adults 18-34 and 18-49, delivering three-quarters of the Spanish-language audience at 9pm and 10pm.

WNEU also led in early fringe, with 50% of total viewers (P2+). Popular court shows “Lo Mejor de Caso Cerrado” and “Caso Cerrado” led early fringe viewing with more than half of the total audience at both 3pm and 4pm. “Caso Cerrado” was also #1 at 4pm among all key adult demos.
