Alma Awards to air live on MSNBC

The Alma Awards show is tonight.  For the first time since its inception, the show will air live at 10 pm ET on MSNBC.

Hosted by Eva Longoria and Mario Lopez, the awards presentation will start with a one hour pre-show, which will be recorded for webcast, followed by the live one-hour livecast.

The awards show will also include complementary programming on MSNBC and mun2 and on digital platforms including mun2.tv and Telemundo.com.

The 2013 ALMA Awards will feature three new segments, including a comedy segment with special guest Al Madrigal from “The Daily Show,” a social media segment with mun2’s Yarel Ramos and Crash and a special performance segment featuring Sebastien De La Cruz, “El Charro de Oro.”

The one-hour pre-show telecast will honor actor, writer and director Tony Plana with the Ricardo Montalban Award for Lifetime Achievement, actor Wilmer Valderrama with the Outstanding Social Activism Award and writer and producer Nancy De Los Santos Reza with the Outstanding Industry and Community Service Award.

The ALMA Awards are executive produced by Eva Longoria and Janet Murguía, President and CEO of NCLR.
