CNN Latino Tampa station will rebrand, continue local programming

February 5, 2014 by Veronica Villafañe

The shutdown of CNN Latino caught many by surprise. But the low power SIMA Communications station in Tampa that currently airs the CNN en Español syndicated programming block won’t pull the plug on its operations.

Buenos Dias Latino
Clara Tavares, Judith Alvarez, Pico Jorge y Sarykarmen Rivera (from L to R) host “Buenos Días Latino” in Tampa.

A spokesperson for WTAM Chanel 30 said they will stay on the air.

“We will continue to produce local programming as well as our morning show Buenos Días Latino,” said Verónica Falcón, Marketing Director for the station. “With respect to our rebranding strategy we will make a statement at the appropriate time.”

Buenos Dias Latino, co-hosted by Sarykarmen Rivera, Judith Álvarez, Clara Tavares and Pico Jorge airs every weekday morning from 6:30 to 8:30 am.
