Azteca América announced today that Manuel Abud has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.
He’ll report directly to Gustavo Guzmán, Senior ranking member of the Executive Committee of TV Azteca, S.A.B. de C.V., and one of the company’s founders.
He’ll be based in Miami, but will split his time between Azteca América’s headquarters in Los Angeles and corporate offices in Mexico City.
In his role, Abud will lead the Azteca América broadcast network in the US and its newly created Station Group, managing over 25 local stations.
He takes over the spot from Martin Breidsprecher, who has been named COO.
Abud was previously President of the Telemundo Station Group. He left that role in November of last year, when he was replaced by Manuel Martínez. He was named President of Telemundo Station Group in January of 2011.
He was previously President and General Manager of Telemundo Dallas KXTX, General Manager at KVEA-52, interim General Manager of KWHY-22 in Los Angeles and President of the now defunct CBS Telenoticias.
