Renán “Cucuy” Almendárez Coello gets star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Radio personality Renán Almendárez Coello, best known as “El Cucuy,” today received the 2,535th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, honoring a career spanning more than 20 years in broadcasting.

Renán currently hosts the nationally syndicated radio show “El Cucuy de la Mañana.”

“El Cucuy” ruled the airwaves in the mid 90’s, holding the #1 spot in morning radio in the L.A. market for years, besting even Howard Stern.  He also hosted a short-lived television show on Azteca América in 2008.

Singers Graciela Beltrán and Tony Meléndez joined the 61 year-old Honduran-born “Cucuy” during the morning ceremony held at 6141 Hollywood Blvd.
