Paulina Rubio and Telemundo reach out of court settlement

Paulina Rubio was a coach and judge on season one of Telemundo’s “La Voz Kids.”

Singer and actress Paulina Rubio and Telemundo Network have settled a breach of contract lawsuit out of court.

The singer filed a lawsuit against Telemundo in January of this year alleging the network reneged on its agreement to pay her $1.3 million to return as a coach for the second season of “La Voz Kids” and replaced her with “less expensive talent.”

In court papers, “La Chica Dorada” alleged that Telemundo backed out of the contract using scheduling concerns as a “pretext.” At the time, Paulina was also appearing as a judge on Fox’s “The X Factor.”

But Telemundo claimed they were clear that she had to be available to perform on “La Voz Kids” from May 12 through June 7, 2014. The network’s lawyers stated in court papers that she refused to commit working during that specific period.

Attorneys for the singer in the case of PAULINA RUBIO DOSAMANTES ET AL VS TELEMUNDO MEDIA ET AL filed a Notice of Settlement of Entire Case on Nov. 25, 2014.

None of the attorneys would comment on the settlement.
