Univision launches new talent show

May 1, 2015 by Veronica Villafañe

Me Pongo de Pie
Cristian Castro, Ana Torroja and Espinoza Paz are the judges of “Me Pongo de Pie.”

“Me Pongo de Pie” is Univision’s newest reality show. The new weekly competition featuring parent-and-child duos starts this Sunday, May 3rd at 8 pm ET/PT.

Participants will face off every Sunday over 10 weeks, performing traditional and newer hits, supported by six music celebrities: singers Paty Cantú, Ha-Ash, Pee Wee, Río Roma, Noel Schajris and María León, who as captains will lead two duos each.

Actress Galilea Montijo will emcee.

The show’s three judges are soloist and former Mecano singer Ana Torroja, pop star Cristian Castro and Mexican Regional singer Espinoza Paz. They’ll evaluate their performances with the help of a 100-person panel that will award points to the singers.

Judges may veto the tallies. The show will start with 12 couples. The contestants who get the fewest points will be eliminated each week.

“Me Pongo de Pie,” taped in Mexico, is produced by Rubén and Santiago Galindo.
