Effective immediately, Spanish Broadcasting System has promoted two of its Chicago executives. WLEY-FM/La Ley 107.9 General Manager Joe Mackay was named Executive Vice President of National and Network Sales, overseeing revenue efforts at AIRE Radio Networks and directing national spot sales for the major-market SBS radio outlets. He’ll continue to be based in Chicago.

He replaces Jack Hobbs, who left the company last week.

With Mackay’s move to corporate, Leticia “Leti” Aguilera, who has been the station’s Local Sales Manager since January, takes over as GM of WLEY-FM, according to Chicagoland Radio and Media.

Mackay joined SBS and WLEY-FM in March of 2005, holding several roles at the station, including Director of National Sales and National Sales Manager, before getting promoted to VP of National Sales for SBS. He was named GM of WLEY-FM in June of 2008.

He left SBS to work as the Director of National Sales for Cumulus Media Chicago from January 2012 to October 2014. He returned to SBS in November of 2014 as its GM.

Aguilera returned to SBS in January of this year after a 3-year absence, during which she worked as a Sales Manager for HCJ Penn National Gaming and an Account Executive for CBS Radio’s WBBM-FM 96.3FM.

She was previously at WLEY-FM from 2005 to 2012. When she left the station, she was its Marketing and Promotions Director.
