Telemundo Internacional has signed two deals this week at MIPCOM 2015 in Cannes that expands its portfolio and solidifies its positioning in the international market.

The company signed a deal to be exclusive distributor of HBO Latin America Originals in Europe, Middle East, Asia, Africa and Oceania as of January 2016.

Telemundo Internacional also signed an long-term agreement with Mega Chile giving it exclusive rights for the distribution of the Chilean channel’s fiction programs and formats worldwide.

According to the company, Telemundo Internacional has become the second largest distributor worldwide of Spanish-language programming to more than 120 countries during the past decade.

The HBO deal strengthens the partnership that began in June 2014, when HBO Latin America Group (HBO LAG) was appointed as the exclusive affiliate sales representative for the Telemundo Internacional channel throughout most of Latin America. In July of this year, HBO LAG became responsible for the distribution of the NBCUniversal International channels in the Spanish-speaking regions of Latin America.

Telemundo Internacional will represent the catalog of fiction and documentary series for HBO Latin America in the assigned territories, starting with “El Hipnotizador,” “Magnífica 70,” “El Negocio” and “Psi” – exclusive series that until now have only been available on the HBO channel. The deal will make them available for distribution as of January 2016 .

The Mega Chile deal expands Telemundo Internacional’s portfolio of Chilean productions to approximately 450 hours of content per year.
