Jonathan Camuy worked as a production assistant on Telemundo’s “La Voz Kids.”

Television production assistant Jonathan Camuy was among the 50 people killed in the nightclub shooting in Orlando.

The 25-year-old was a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, who worked on Telemundo’s music reality show “La Voz Kids.”

César Conde, Chairman of NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, today issued a statement about Jonathan’s death:

“We want to extend our thoughts, prayers and deepest condolences to Jonathan’s family and friends. He was a great assistant producer and had been working with us since “Yo Soy el Artista” and previously at Telemundo Puerto Rico. Most recently, he was working in audience management in the current season of “La Voz Kids.”

In Puerto Rico, Jonathan had worked at Telenoticias and late night show “Alexandra de Noche,” which remembered its young co-worker and posted condolences on its Facebook page.

NAHJ President Mekahlo Medina, who also works for NBC Universal, denounced the shooting, telling Media Moves:

“This senseless act of hate and anger took part of our familia and hurts us all. Jonathan was just at the beginning of his life, his career, following a passion that runs through the veins of all of us. My condolences to his family in Orlando and Puerto Rico and his work family at Telemundo.”
