Hillary Clinton to speak at NAHJ/NABJ convention

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton will speak at the joint convention of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) and National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ).

Both organizations confirmed today that the first woman nominated to run for President of the United States will speak to journalists attending the conference on Friday, August 5.

No other specifics are yet available about the event, which will take place at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park.

“Throughout her campaign, Hillary Clinton has placed an emphasis on inclusion and has shown support for communities of color. Her decision to support this event further shows her commitment to diversity, and we welcome her just as we’ve welcomed President George W. Bush and Mexican President Vicente Fox to previous conventions,” NAHJ President Mekahlo Medina said in a statement.

Only 2016 NAHJ/NABJ registered convention attendees will have access to the event.

Both presidential candidates were invited to speak at the convention. According to the event planners, Donald Trump has not responded to the invitation.
