Telemundo’s #1 primetime ratings streak continues, extends to Sundays

October 5, 2016 by Veronica Villafañe

Telemundo primetime
Telemundo’s primetime programming slate is keeping the network at #1 among adults 18-49.

Telemundo is on a roll. During the month of September it solidified its position as the #1 Spanish-language network among adults 18-49 during weekday primetime.

By sealing that win, Telemundo has now consistently been the ratings leader for 11 consecutive weeks Monday through Friday from 7 to 11 pm since the week of July 18, according to Nielsen.

Telemundo’s new primetime series lineup – “Silvana Sin Lana” at 8 pm, “Sin Senos Sí Hay Paraíso” at 9 pm and “Señora Acero 3, La Coyote” at 10 pm, have attracted an average of 847,000 adults 18-49 during the month of September, surpassing Univision’s 741,000. It also ranked as the #1 Spanish-language network among total viewers averaging 1,718,000 and among adults 18-34 with an average of 403,000.

But its dominance over Univision during weekday primetime is now extending to Sundays, where Telemundo has scored another big hit with the Juan Gabriel biographic series “Hasta Que Te Conocí.”

Based on the life of Mexican superstar Juan Gabriel, the series premiered on September 11 to record-breaking audiences, bringing in 2,913,000 total viewers and 1,358,000 adults 18-49 and reaching a cumulative audience of 4,724,000 total viewers.

Telemundo has been able to hold on to a significant portion of that audience, keeping Univision at bay and staying at #1 for the night with a historic average of 2,760,000 million total viewers and 1,316,000 million adults 18-49 since the show’s premiere.
