Telemundo Sacramento launches first newscast

Regina Guillén and Florentino Mesa anchor Noticiero Telemundo 33.

Telemundo Sacramento now has a weekday local newscast – just in time for elections.

Noticiero Telemundo 33 debuted today at 6 pm. It’s KCSO’s first ever local newscast. The newscast will air Monday through Friday from 6 to 6:30 pm.

News Director Florentino Mesa and Regina Guillén are the newscast’s co-anchors. Susanna González and Matthew Godinez are the team’s multimedia journalists.

A native of Colombia, Florentino started his U.S. broadcast career in 1998, where he has worked as News Director for the now-defunct Radio Única and anchor for Univision 67 in Monterey, CA and Grupo Latino de Radio.

Regina, who is originally from El Salvador, has previously worked as a reporter for Mundo Fox Noticias 22 and a reporter for Univision Las Vegas.

Matthew previously worked as a reporter for KRCA 62 in Los Angeles. Before moving to Sacramento, Susanna worked as a news briefs anchor and reporter at KSNO Telemundo 51 Fresno.

KCSO is a Serestar Communications-run Telemundo affiliate.
