Univision has struck a deal with Facebook to live stream select matches of its Liga MX portfolio directly to U.S. fans in English on the social media platform.
The partnership kicks off Saturday, February 18 and continues throughout 2017. Fans will be able stream Liga MX matches in the U.S. in real-time on the Univision Deportes Facebook Page and via Facebook’s Video tab.
Univision Deportes will stream 46 Liga MX matches including playoff games in 2017 via Facebook Live. Further terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Univision carries the rights to 17 of the 18 teams in the Liga MX soccer league.
The deal broadens the scope of Univision’s sports coverage in English, giving it the opportunity to expand the audience for its soccer programming.
