Telemundo Orlando has expanded its weekday news programming, launching two new half-hour newscasts.
“Telenoticias Orlando” has added 5 and 5:30 pm shows to their current 6 pm newscast, now offering a 90-minute afternoon news block.
The ZGS-owned station hired additional staffers for the expansion, including anchor Luis Estrada. He arrives from Telemundo Atlanta, where he had been an anchor and reporter for four years.
The station also hired Michelle Féliz, who had been a freelancer for the past six years. She is now a full-time general assignment reporter for all editions of “Telenoticias Orlando.”
Reporters Andrea Marcial and Valezka Gil, who have worked for “Telenoticias Orlando” for the past four years, have been promoted to anchors for the new shows.
The new anchor lineup will be as follows:
5:00 pm – Andrea Marcial and Valezka Gil
5:30 pm – Andrea Marcial & Luis Estrada
6:00 pm – Luis Estrada and Olga Aymat
11:00 pm – Luis Estrada and Olga Aymat
The 5 and 5:30 pm newscasts were launched on Monday, March 6.
