O’Keefe leaves Washington Post to become CBS News correspondent

Ed O'Keefe

Ed O’Keefe is making a full-time move into television news. He is joining CBS News as a political correspondent based in Washington, D.C.

He had been a network news contributor for the network over the past year.

He’ll report for all CBS News broadcasts and platforms starting Sunday, April 15.

““This is a dream come true and I’m so excited to be able to continue reporting about campaigns and elections for CBS,” O’Keefe tells Media Moves. “I’ve always appreciated their thoughtful approach to covering the news — but I’ve always appreciated getting to know the great people who work there over the past year.”

O’Keefe is leaving The Washington Post, where he has worked since 2005. He spent the last 10 years reporting on congressional and presidential politics, including the presidential campaigns of Jeb Bush, Hillary Clinton, John McCain, Barack Obama, Mitt Romney, Marco Rubio and Donald Trump, as well as dozens of key House and Senate races.

On Capitol Hill, he has reported extensively on debates over gun control, immigration policy, health-care reform and federal spending.
