Starting today, KSTS Telemundo 48 Área de la Bahía adds a new 30-minute midday newscast as part of its efforts to expand local programming.
“Noticiero Telemundo 48 al Mediodía” will air Monday to Friday at 12 pm PT.
Flavio Lacayo and Sandra Cervantes will co-anchor the midday newscast.
Lacayo joins the Telemundo 48 news team after working for KDTV Univision 14 in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2002 as a reporter and anchor.
Cervantes arrives to KSTS 48 after working as weekend anchor and reporter for KUVS Univision 19 in Sacramento. She was previously a weather anchor, producer and reporter for KUNP Univision in Portland.
Telemundo 48 also launched live morning news updates delivered by Sandra Cervantes. The morning news updates will air weekdays between 7 and 9:30 am PT.
