WRMD Telemundo today announced it is expanding its news team with two new hires: journalist Alexis Boentes and meteorologist Rubén Capote.
Boentes joins the Tampa station from Univision WVEA Tampa Bay, where he worked as an MMJ for the past two years. He previously worked as a news anchor, video journalist, producer and writer for Deutsche Welle’s “DW en Español,” Mexican public network Sistema Jaliciense de Radio y Televisión (SJRTV) and the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television.
Capote is a meteorologist and environmental scientist with eight years of experience analyzing and forecasting weather systems for corporations in Tampa and abroad.
He will be the station’s first meteorologist.
Boentes started on-air yesterday and Capote will make his debut later this month.
