After a 25-year career at Televisa in Mexico, actor and television presenter Héctor Sandarti is moving to Miami to join Telemundo’s “Un Nuevo Día.”

He starts his new role as co-host of the morning show on Friday, June 29.

Sandarti was a guest host on the show for a few days in May. He now steps into the role full-time, alongside co-hosts Marco Antonio Regil, Rashel Diaz, Adamari López and Zuleyka Rivera.

“Un Nuevo Día” is currently airing seven days a week during the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

As a lead-in to the morning matches, the show has enjoyed a ratings boost, with an audience increase of 45% among adults 18-49 Monday through Sunday.

Born in Guatemala, Sandarti began his career as a singer and won Colombia’s Festival de la Canción. Over the past 25 years, Sandarti has worked for Televisa on many successful productions in Mexico, including “Vas or No Vas,” the Spanish-language version of “Deal or No Deal.” He has also been a co-host of “Vida TV,” the morning program “Hoy,” “Parodiando,” “El Juego de las Estrellas,” “El Privilegio de Mandar” and the hit telenovela “Hasta que el dinero nos separe,” among others.
