Rivera joins Telemundo Las Vegas as sports anchor

Telemundo Las Vegas has hired Manuel “Meme” Rivera as sports anchor and reporter for the station’s 5, 5:30, 6 and 11 pm newscasts.

He makes his on-air debut today.

He replaces Harry Ruiz, who left at the end of May.

A native of El Salvador, Rivera arrives to Telemundo Las Vegas after working as a sports anchor for shows such as “Noticiero Hechos,” “Pizarrón Deportivo” and “Hola El Salvador” at Canal 12 in El Salvador since 2016.

He was also the official voice and play-by-play commentator for all live games of the CONCACAF Liga de Campeones.

Rivera previously worked as a sports anchor and commentator for sports channel Tigo Sports El Salvador from 2015 to 2016. He was the first official voice and commentator of all soccer games broadcast live for the Liga Mayor de Fútbol Salvadoreña, as well as the CONCACAF Rumbo a Rusia 2018 eliminatory games.

Before that, he was the host of late night daily sports show and sports news anchor for TVX channel, also in El Salvador.
