Mendoza crosses over to NBC from Telemundo

April 29, 2019 by Veronica Villafañe

Sergio Mendoza is crossing over into the English-language market after spending more than six years at Telemundo Texas stations.

He leaves KTMD in Houston, where he was a photographer and editor since 2016.

His last day at the station was Friday, April 26.

The Rio Grande Valley native is moving to San Diego to become part of the news team at KNSD NBC 7 as photographer and editor.

He starts his new job on May 6.

An Emmy-award winning photographer, Mendoza began his career as master control operator at KTLM Telemundo 40 in McAllen in 2013, before switching to videography.

Did he do his own PR campaign about his “cross over”? He is not well known, but good for him leaving Telemundo Houston and the ND that has his favorites there.
