Claudia Cruz is leaving CNET en Español where she has been a technology news reporter covering Silicon Valley companies, startups, artificial intelligence, social media and consumer electronics since 2013.
She has accepted a position as Director, Internships and Experiential Learning at the Reynolds School of Journalism of the University of Nevada, Reno.
Her last day at CNET is June 28. She starts her new role August 1.
Before joining CNET, she launched and served as editor of the local news site Mountain View Patch.
Cruz moved to the Bay Area from New York, where she worked as editor-in-chief of El Correo de Queens, staff writer for the Queens Courier, local reporter for Manhattan’s Washington Heights, and Inwood community paper, The Manhattan Times.
Cruz has a Masters from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism and Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.
