LBI Media COO Winter Horton resigns

Winter Horton

Longtime LBI Media COO Winter Horton has resigned. He is leaving after 22 years with the company.

His last day is Friday, August 23.

A company spokesperson confirmed his departure.

In a statement, LBI Media acknowledged Horton will “pursue other interests” and thanked him “for his contributions and dedication to the company.”

Peter Markham has been appointed Interim COO of LBI Media.

Horton joined LBI Media in 1997, helping lay out the groundwork for what would become new Spanish-language network EstrellaTV. He started as VP of Programming for LBI’s first television station KRCA Channel 62 and helped CEO Lenard Liberman develop the company’s production and programming strategy.

Horton was promoted to Corporate Vice President and in 2001, launched LBI Media’s radio and television cluster in Houston. After the company acquired five radio stations and a television station in Dallas in 2004, he oversaw the cluster launch.

Prior to joining LBI Media, Inc., Horton owned a television production company.
