Solis returns to Dallas Morning News

Dianne Solis

Dianne Solis is returning to the The Dallas Morning News as senior immigration reporter.

Solis, who worked at the DMN for 22 years, was one of over 40 people laid off from the paper in a round of cuts in January.

“I’m returning to daily journalism at a time of profound chaos and conflict in the United States,” she tells Media Moves.

“Immigration and identity are at the heart of the tumult. I embrace the challenge of telling those stories with a thinking heart. Am I pleased that The Dallas Morning News is giving me the home to do that? Of course, for The Dallas Morning News operates one of the toughest newsrooms in our country.”

She’ll be back on the job starting August 19.

Before the DMN, Solis spent 13 years as a correspondent for the Wall Street Journal in Mexico City and Houston.
